Chichester City Band was formed in 1897 and has a long and proud history. Today, this award winning band of about 30 amateur members is bringing music to the community through concerts and other engagements. The band has a very large repertoire to choose from spanning a broad range of musical genres to suit any occasion.

In October last year the band won the Southern Counties 1st Section contest in Folkstone and have just been promoted to the 1st section nationally, thanks in no small part to the efforts of our new Musical Director Ross Hunt. Ross is a Royal Marine Warrant Officer serving with the RM band service and was appointed as our Musical Director in November 2010 after spending many months with us as our Bandmaster. He and has worked tirelessly to improve the band's performance and this dedication has been rewarded by the band's promotion to the 1st Section of the National Brass Band Association.
