CCTB is a band for the young and the young at heart. Although most of our membership are still at school and regularly play for their school and the Chichester Music Centre, we also have a number of adult players.
CCTB was conducted by Kevin Webb until spring 2003. Since when, the band’s numbers have grew from eight to the current membership of thirty. Members travel from as far afield as Rowlands Castle, Littlehampton, Midhurst and Petworth. The trainig band is now under the direction of the main bands Principle Cornet – Alf Hughes
CCTB regularly plays a set at Chichester City Band’s main concerts, including the Spring, Chichester Festivities and Christmas Concerts. In addition, the band also plays in Chichester Precinct in the summer and at Christmas and undertakes other functions when invited to do so.
The emphasis is on having fun and enjoyment through making music together.
When CCTB members reach a high enough standard they are invited to join Chichester City Band, providing there is a vacancy. Four current members of Chichester City Band are past members of CCTB.
